COVID-19 and Influenza Vaccinations

At Smithfield Medical & Dental Centre, we prioritize community health by offering COVID-19 and influenza vaccinations.

COVID-19 vaccines are crucial in preventing severe illness and are free for all Australians. Influenza vaccines are free for individuals over 65, under 5, pregnant women, and those with serious medical conditions.

Book your annual flu vaccine and COVID-19 vaccine separately; we'll schedule your subsequent doses as needed. After vaccination, we monitor patients for 15 minutes (or 30 minutes for higher-risk individuals) to ensure safety.

We provide detailed vaccine information and advise on monitoring symptoms via the COVID-19 symptom checker and National Coronavirus Helpline (1800 020 080).

Immunisation for Your Child

Immunisation safeguards against harmful infections by strengthening your immune system. Our practice follows the Australian Government’s child immunisation schedule, tailoring recommendations based on your family's health history.

Protecting children from serious diseases is paramount, and we provide comprehensive immunisation programs tailored to your family’s needs.

Adult Vaccinations

For adults over 65, Indigenous Australians over 50, and those with chronic illnesses, influenza and pneumococcal vaccines are essential to prevent severe health risks.

Our doctors assess your overall health to recommend appropriate vaccinations, including influenza, pneumococcal, and Zostavax (Shingles) vaccines.

Pregnancy and Vaccinations

Immunisation during pregnancy protects both mother and baby from infections. We advise all expecting parents to stay updated on vaccinations, including whooping cough and influenza vaccines.

COVID-19 vaccination is recommended for pregnant women to protect against severe illness.

For comprehensive guidance on vaccinations from preconception to birth, consult with our medical team.

At Smithfield Medical & Dental Centre, we utilize Microsoft Teams for convenient online video consultations. Download Microsoft Teams for free from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store to access our telehealth services at no cost.
